Restaurant Inventory & Food Cost

Orders in.
Ingredients out.

DishStock turns eligible Wix Restaurants Orders into explainable theoretical ingredient movements—without pretending a calculation is a physical count.

Preparing for Wix App Market launch. An installation link will appear here after publication.

Start with one useful dish.

  1. Add an ingredient and current stock.
  2. Create the dish recipe per serving.
  3. Connect its exact Wix menu choice.
  4. Place a test order and review Activity.
The workflow

From order to a stock movement you can explain.

Order

An eligible order arrives from Wix.

Choice

The item, variant, and modifiers identify a connection.

Recipe

Per-serving ingredient quantities are applied.

Stock

The theoretical quantity changes once.

Activity

The reason, time, and ingredients remain visible.

Wix documents menu items, variants, and modifier groups as distinct restaurant menu entities. DishStock uses those distinctions so different choices can use different recipes. Read Wix’s Menus API overview.

Ingredient stock

See theoretical quantities, low-stock thresholds, and estimated servings based on active recipes.

Recipe food cost

Combine ingredient unit costs and recipe quantities. Missing inputs stay visibly incomplete instead of becoming false precision.

Conservative recovery

Duplicates do not deduct twice. Unknown choices pause. Physical counts reset the real-world baseline without erasing history.

What DishStock is

A theoretical inventory record for daily restaurant operations.

Use it to understand what stock should remain after recorded orders, restocks, waste, corrections, and counts.

Clear boundaries

  • Not purchasing or supplier management
  • Not a POS or accounting system
  • Not a substitute for physical counts
  • Not a guarantee against recipe or preparation variance

DishStock is useful precisely because it keeps this boundary visible.

Why add ingredient inventory to Wix?

Wix’s current help center says food-stock tracking is not available in the Wix Restaurant Orders (New) app. DishStock is designed as a focused companion workflow: Wix remains the source for restaurant orders and menu choices, while DishStock maintains recipe-based theoretical ingredient stock.
